This Privacy Statement sets out how The Royal Wanstead School Website comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the use and protection of any information that you provide when you use our website and the details of the data which we hold.

The Royal Wanstead School Website is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that is collated by this site for the purpose of acquiring and displaying archive material will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
This statement may change depending on any future update of the relevant law at which stage we will inform you.
What Personal Information we Collect
We collect the following information:
- Your current full name (required)
- Your previous name used during your school years
- Your email address (required)
- Your date of birth (required to establish your identity)
- The dates you attended RWS (required)
- Whether you are an old pupil, relative, teacher, etc (required)
- If not a pupil or teacher. the name of the relative (old pupil or teacher)
- Your country of residence (required)
Using Personal Information
Your details are held within a secure database for registration purposes and to ensure that your contributions are from a genuine source.
As from 9th November 2018 and following discussion regarding the GDPR regulations, any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) that you have supplied is no longer available to the registered membership.
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required to by law.
Right to Erasure
If you want to remove your personal data from our records, please delete your account by selecting ‘Account‘ from the main menu and the ‘Delete‘ waste basket icon.
This action will delete all information you have provided including any posts, pictures and conversations. Alternatively email email@example.com
There is a database of pupils that attended the school from 1957 to 1972, this information is far from complete and there are many omissions as a condensed list was supplied by the archivist many years ago. This data is now also not available to the registered membership from 9th November 2018, in view of GDPR regulations. As a registered member you may request information relating to yourself but not others.
